TV's Cooter To Perform

Dukes Of Hazzard Star, Garage Band Plan Jan. 26 Reunion Event

Posted: January 8, 2013

Don those Daisy Dukes, rev your engines and cruise on down to the Shenandoah Caverns’ Yellow Barn to watch Ben “Cooter” Jones (of the Dukes of Hazzard) and the Garage Band reunite to perform and record a live TV pilot.

According to Lisa Meadows, lead singer of the Garage Band and also a local resident, says the group has always “wanted to do music theater in the area.” As the band searched for a venue, the Yellow barn was also looking for a unique feature performance.

As a result, Valley residents will reap the benefits with a live entertainment event on Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Yellow Barn.

Meadows is eager to get back on stage with her longtime singing buddy, Jones, who she describes as “a great television guy; everyone knows him and he loves to sing.”

Jones and Meadows performed together for 13 years after she decided to leave the Virginia Dreams Center Stage, which airs on local television. And, Meadows added, she’s also had the honor of performing with Jones at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

In addition to The Garage Band, which previously toured with Jones for two years across the country, special guests will include John Robert Rimel, the Freemans and Danny Figgins.

Tickets are $10. To order advanced tickets, drop by the Shenandoah Caverns Yellow Barn or call (540) 477-2432.
