Moe and Lora Dugard share a view of their Virginia Mennonite Retirement Center home Sept. 21. Immediately following the Dugard’s honeymoon, the couple was tested as World War II called Moe to duty: For more than a year, the newlyweds stayed in touch by writing letters and stealing time every six to seven weeks when Moe’s ship returned to port. When asked how their marriage has withstood the test of time, their answers were similar: “Compromise” and “Get over it [your differences].” (Photo by Michael Reilly)
