HARRISONBURG — A Broadway man netted a six-figure windfall from the Virginia Lottery.
John Barber won $150,000 on a $150 Grand scratch-off ticket, the game’s top prize, lottery officials announced on Thursday.
Barber bought the ticket at the One Stop Godfather’s Pizza on North Main Street in Timberville, according to a news release.
His is the second of five top prizes in the game, which will end once all the grand prizes are claimed.
Barber told lottery officials he and his wife had a previous false alarm about striking it rich, so he was skeptical when she said the ticket was a winner.
“Don’t do this to me again,” he recalled saying.
