Troop 72 Assistant Scoutmaster Greg Liskey co-led one of three Stonewall Jackson Area Council troops — including 108 scouts from local areas such as Bridgewater, Elkton and Harrisonburg — to the National Scout Jamboree held July 15-24 at Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia.

More than 40,000 scouts from around the world were present, including a kilt-clad group from Scotland.

Held every four years, the 10-day trip includes adventures across reserve’s 10,000 acres. Activities include zip lines, BMX and mountain biking, canopy tours, shooting sports and white water rafting. Scouts are also required to participate in a day of service benefitting the local area.
