Bridgewater College associate professor of music Dr. Larry Taylor will present an organ recital, “Should I Be Clapping?” an organ recital, at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8 in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College.
The program includes works from the French Romantic repertory, jazz arrangements by Joe Utterback and “Introduction, Passacaglia and Fugue in E-flat Minor” by Healey Willan.
The evening will conclude with a showing of Buster Keaton’s short silent film “One Week” that features an organ accompaniment arranged by Taylor.
The title of the program refers to matters of classical concert etiquette that Taylor will address for the audience.
Taylor is chair of the music department. He is also the music director at Luray United Methodist Church. He earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in organ from the University of Cincinnati, where he won the Strader Organ Competition.
