Dayton Autumn Celebration Returns
If you are in the mood for food, fun and entertainment, head to Dayton.

The 34th annual Dayton Autumn Celebration will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 5 on Main, Mill and College streets in downtown Dayton.

The event will celebrate the Valley’s culture and creativity, with more than 400 vendors selling handmade arts and crafts. There will also be live bands, children’s activities and Irish dancing. There will be more than 75 food vendors, representing a wide variety of foods, such as Indian, Thai and grilled American food.

“Every year, we have a large crowd,” says Shelia Helsley, event planner and coordinator for the town of Dayton. “We’re expecting more than 20,000 attendees this year. It is a great fall event.”

Ladies-Only Wine Event To Be Held
All Things Virginia at The Farmhouse and The Valley Wine Cellar are teaming up to host the “Shenandoah Women LOVE Wine” event from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at The Valley Wine Center on Old Cross Road in New Market.

A number of local businesses, which are all woman-owned or managed, will be present at the event, such as Mama’s Caboose, which will provide hors d’oeuvre. There will also be drawings held by a few of the sponsors, in which attendees will have a chance to win gifts and gift certificates.

“We wanted to have an event for the ladies,” says Vicki Ruckman, owner of All Things Virginia at The Farmhouse. “This will definitely be a fun event for ladies to meet each other and network.”

The event will also be an opportunity for local women to get to know a few of the Valley’s woman-owned businesses, while being able to enjoy the perks of a mini-massage and skin consultations.

Tickets, which cost $15, will be sold at All Things Virginia at The Farmhouse.
