BROADWAY – Shortstop J.J. Loker homered and drove in three runs to lead Elkton to an 8-6 win over Broadway in a Rockingham County Baseball League game Sunday at Broadway High School.

The Blue Sox improved to 13-8; the Bruins fell to 6-16.

Second baseman Shannon Cross and third baseman Andrew Bradley also totaled three hits apiece for Elkton.

Bridgewater 5, New Market 3: Second baseman Ryan McAlister went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and Bridgewater defeated New Market 5-3 in a Rockingham County Baseball League game Sunday in New Market.

The Reds improved to 6-15; the Shockers fell 3-18.

Robert Gallet pitched a complete game to pick up his first win of the season, striking out seven batters in the process.

Strasburg Tops Turks, 4-2

STRASBURG – Eastern Kentucky first baseman Luke Wurzelbacher’s two-run fifth inning home run broke up a tied contest as Strasburg defeated Harrisonburg 4-2 in a seven-inning Valley Baseball League game Sunday at First Bank Park.

The Express, which also got solo home runs from Furman left fielder Sky Overton and West Virginia State designated hitter Anthony Payne, improved to 15-16; the Turks fell to 18-11.

Georgia Tech second baseman Thomas Smith went 4-for-4 to lead Harrisonburg, while Georgia State designated hitter Matt Rose delivered his fifth home run in a Turks uniform.
