PITTSBURGH
– Junior forward Toia Giggetts scored a career-high 23 points, including 13 in the second half, to lead James Madison to a 71-61 victory over Pittsburgh in a non-conference women’s basketball game Wednesday at Petersen Events Center.

The Dukes improved to 6-2; the Panthers fell to 4-4.

It was Madison’s second win over an Atlantic Coast Conference team this season. The Dukes beat Virginia 63-46 in their season opener in Harrisonburg.

Senior guard Kirby Burkholder had 14 points and seven rebounds for JMU, while redshirt sophomore guard Jazmon Gwathmey added 12 points.

Junior guard Brianna Kiesel paced Pitt with 15 points, and freshman guard Frederique Potvin chipped in 10.

Randolph Men 65, BC 54: Junior guard Mike Ehilegbu scored a game-high 14 points as Randolph shot 50 percent from the floor to defeat Bridgewater College 65-54 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference men’s basketball game Wednesday in Lynchburg.

The WildCats improved to 3-1 overall, 1-0 in the ODAC; the Eagles fell to 2-2, 0-1.

Senior guard Tavis Stapleton netted 13 points and was the only player in double figures for BC, which shot just 30.6 percent.

The Hornets improved to 1-1; the Blue Streaks fell to 0-1.

Senior shooting guard Jalen Williams had 15 points, and senior point guard Andrew Zingg added 13 to pace HHS.
