WAYNESBORO — Freshman forward Faith Funkhouser scored 13 points to lead Broadway High School past Waynesboro 41-35 in a girls’ basketball game Friday night.

The Gobblers improved to 9-1; the Giants’ record was not available.

Senior guard Madyson Alger added 10 points for BHS.

Senior forward Tayler Dodson (13 points), junior guard McKenzie Jenkins (10) and senior guard Nikki Lam (10) all scored in double figures for Spotswood.

HARRISONBURG — Senior guard Daniel Nyce scored 15 points to lead Eastern Mennonite High School past Holy Cross 50-25 in a boys’ basketball game Friday.

The Flames improved to 3-3; the Gaels dropped to 4-4.

EMU Men 78, Virginia-Lynchburg 70: Junior center David Falk scored 20 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as Eastern Mennonite University defeated Virginia University of Lynchburg 78-70 in a men’s basketball game Friday night in Harrisonburg.

The Royals improved to 6-4; Virginia-Lynchburg’s record was not available.

Senior wing RJ Sims added 16 points for EMU.  Marcel Crump added 12 points for the Royals.
