— Senior guard Seth Kardos scored 23 points to lead Harrisonburg High School to a 58-56 win over Wilson Memorial in a non-district boys’ basketball game Wednesday at Wilson Memorial.

The Blue Streaks improved to 1-3; the Hornets fell to 1-2.

Senior guard Brian Rodriguez added 13 points for HHS, and sophomore forward Chris Whitelow had 11 rebounds.

Forward Mathyuis Pettis led Wilson with 23 points, 21 of which came in a 33-point fourth quarter.

The Blue Streaks improved to 1-0; the Hornets fell to 1-2.

Junior center Sara Shenk-Moreno added 14 points and 13 rebounds for HHS, and forward Kahla Mawyer led Wilson with 12 points.

Freshman guard Hannah Henry led PCHS with seven points.


Luray Girls 48, William Monroe 32: Junior forward Sable Ponn had 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead Luray High School to a 48-32 win over William Monroe in a non-district girls’ basketball game Tuesday in Stanardsville.

Junior forward Taylor Beahm added six points and eight rebounds for the Bulldogs (3-1).
