Bridgewater Routs Mary Washington

— Freshman right-hander Justin Petock threw seven shutout innings in his first career start, helping Bridgewater College to an 11-0 win over Mary Washington in an eight-inning non-conference baseball game Wednesday.

BC improved to 5-1; MW dropped to 5-3.

Senior third baseman Andrew Hacker went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, sophomore center fielder Darren Yoder went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, and junior left fielder Nick Fulk went 3-for-6 with an RBI and two runs scored for BC.

Pendleton Boys Basketball 97, West Virginia School for the Deaf 33: Junior forward Evan Arrington had 22 points and eight rebounds to lead No. 3 seed Pendleton County High School to a 97-33 win over No. 6 West Virginia School for the Deaf in a Section 2, Region II quarterfinal Wednesday in Franklin, W.Va.

Sophomore forward Addison Heavener added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats (8-14), who will play at No. 2 East Hardy in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Friday.
