At $91, Education A Bargain

Posted: August 21, 2013

The other day, on my way into a local high school to pay my child’s registration fees, I overhead a passing parent on their smart phone complain, “I can’t believe I just had to pay $91 for school registration!”

Isn’t it ironic how some parents gripe about paying for their child’s education, but nary bat an eye when it comes to shelling out $150 a month for their cable bill or $200 for their smart phone service? C’mon — is $91 really such a hardship when it’s an investment in your child’s future?

Anti-public school candidates like Ken Cuccinelli and Mark Obenshain try to make the general public believe that schools are failing, but the real truth is that Virginia’s schools are ranked as the fourth best public education system in the nation.

In my opinion, $91 sounds like a bargain!
