LATROBE, Pa. – Junior quarterback Willie Logan had three touchdowns in his first college start, and Bridgewater College extended coach Michael Clark’s season-opening win streak to seven with a 23-7 victory over St. Vincent on Saturday.

Logan, who won the starting QB job over incumbent starter Carlos Gonzalez during preseason practice, threw for two scores – including a 39-yarder to sophomore wideout Jayme Perry – and ran for the third, all in the second half. He completed 16 of 24 passes for 154 yards and had 10 rushes for 36 yards. Sophomore running back Jacob Wright had 21 carries for 109 yards and three catches for 41 yards.

The Eagles committed 13 penalties, but they also had no turnovers compared to the Bearcats’ four. One of those, an interception by junior linebacker Andrew Palmer on a tipped pass, set up BC’s second touchdown to give it a 14-0 lead midway through the third quarter after a scoreless first half.

St. Vincent cut the margin to 14-7 on a 1-yard passing TD early in the fourth. But BC then forced a safety on a running play, then Logan’s rushing touchdown just about sealed the win.
