For some, the third time's a charm. But, pressing your luck might land you in jail. That appears to be the case, police say, for a Bergton man charged with breaking into the same man's home four times earlier this year.
Rockingham County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Colton Bowman, 20, on the charges on Monday.
Bowman is charged with four felony counts of breaking and entering, three felony counts of grand larceny, felony possession of stolen property with the intent to sell and one misdemeanor count of petty larceny.
He is accused of breaking into the same home in the 14000 block of Mountain Valley Road near Broadway, according to deputies and court documents. Court documents state he broke into the home on Jan. 23 and 29 and Feb. 1 and Feb. 25.
Court documents state he stole money, a firearm and prescription drugs.
Rockingham County Sheriff Bryan Hutcheson said this case was not part of a rash of break-ins that plagued the county last month.
Bowman, who is being held without bond at the Rockingham County Jail, is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County General District Court on April 3 for a preliminary hearing.
