HARRISONBURG — Michael Birdsong says he’s won his appeal.
Early Wednesday afternoon, the James Madison quarterback tweeted, “Thank you Jmu and all who helped me with the appeal process! #winning”
Birdsong was challenging football coach Everett Withers’ decision to ban him from transferring to several non-Colonial Athletic Association schools, going back, Birdsong said, on an agreement they made that would bar him from only CAA schools.
Birdsong had his appeal — it was heard by faculty, not athletics personnel — Tuesday afternoon.
The exact ruling of the panel is unknown. Birdsong did not immediately return a text message seeking comment.
