HARRISONBURG — A Broadway man died in a crash in Warren County early Friday, Virginia State Police say.
Warren E. Wood, 61, was driving a tanker truck westbound on Interstate 66 when a Toyota Corolla lost control and struck it at 2:39 a.m. That caused Wood to run off the right side of the interstate and overturn, police say.
Wood, who was wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. The tanker contained about 8,000 gallons of fuel, but it did not rupture, police say.
The Corolla’s driver, Hea Yon Kim, 23, of Stephens City, was not injured. She has been charged with reckless driving, the release says.
The crash remains under investigation, as of 11 a.m.
