HARRISONBURG — People trying to call Harrisonburg city offices may not be able to leave a message, according to a statement from the city late Tuesday afternoon.

The landlines work, but if an employee is unable to answer the phone, the voicemail will not pick up in some offices, the release said.

The voicemail system for the following offices were inoperable as of Tuesday evening: city manager, finance department, commissioner of the revenue and treasurer’s offices, department of information technology, registrar’s office, office of real estate, human resources department, parking services, community development, tourism and visitor’s center and central stores.

City officials ask for the community’s patience until the problem is found and fixed, the release said.

Anyone with questions is encouraged to email staff members, call department general numbers or check the city’s website, www.HarrisonburgVa.gov.
