Food includes hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, French-fried chicken, fried and country ham sandwiches, funnel cakes, cake and ice cream, barbecue. Thursday: Music by Standing Room Only, featuring Kelly May Brown. Friday and Saturday: The Hackens Boys.

June 30: Dayton Fun Day,Sunset Park, 4 p.m. Music with Kelly May Brown, moon bounce for the kids. Food and beverages available from Dayton non-profits. Popcorn and cotton candy, proceeds benefit Bucky Berry Food Drive. Also canned food drive. Bring lawn chair or blanket.
 

July 1: Semi-annual Mazda Miata Cruise, open to all area Miata drivers; meet 12:30 p.m., Waterman Square Shopping Center; depart 1 p.m. for approximately three-hour drive through Augusta County with refreshment break and possible stop at Andre Viette Nursery, return via Rt. 42 to Harrisonburg. July 4: Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence, Court Square, Harrisonburg, noon. 17th consecutive year of this event, sponsored by the Fort Harrison chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. Also proclamation of the 200th anniversary of the War of 1821.
 

July 5: Shenandoah Valley Track Club Summer Track Meet, EMU track on Park Rd., Harrisonburg, 6:15 p.m. Field events and running events for kids and adults, followed by a road 5K. $3 entry fee. Free for members. Also July 19 and Aug. 2.

July 9: Shenandoah Valley Civil War Roundtable, Rockingha County Supervisors’ meeting room, 7:30 p.m. Speaker: Jeffry Burden, commander-in-chief of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States (MOLLUS), will speak about three Iowa units who fought under Union Gen. Phil Sheridan in the 1864 Valley Campaign.

July 18-21: Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Company Lawn Party and Steam & Gas Show. Help needed making sandwiches in the fire hall in the morning, out in the food booths in the evening. Cake donations can be delivered to the firehouse or to the grounds the day of.
