July 4: Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence, Court Square, Harrisonburg, noon. 17th consecutive year of this event, sponsored by the Fort Harrison chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. Also proclamation of the 200th anniversary of the War of 1821.

Phil Sheridan in the 1864 Valley Campaign.
