A local man was in serious condition after being stabbed Saturday night.
Details are sketchy, but the man was stabbed off Coopers Mountain Road near Clover Hill, just south of U.S. 33, around 11 p.m.
Rockingham County Sheriff Bryan Hutcheson said he couldn't provide more information because he didn’t want to compromise the investigation.
He said investigators are following leads in order to determine suspects. No charges have been filed.
Hutcheson would not speculate as to what caused the altercation.
The injured man, who had more than one knife wound, was flown by medical helicopter to the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Hutcheson said he likely would be releasing more information in the next day or two.
