HARRISONBURG – Spotswood High School senior forward Tayler Dodson was named the Virginia High School Coaches Association 3A state Player of the Year after leading the Trailblazers to back-to-back state championships in girls' basketball.

Dodson led SHS (27-1) with 20.8 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. The 6-foot George Mason commit is the only player in school history with over 1,000 career points and rebounds.

Dodson’s father, Chris, was named the 3A state Coach of the Year.

Joining Tayler Dodson on the VHSCA all-state first team was Broadway’s Brianna Zook and Central’s Katelyn Poston. All three were selected on the Virginia High School League’s all-state team.
