EMU Is Rejecting Biblical Principles
A question for President Loren Swartzendruber and the board of Eastern Mennonite University from an alumnus, parent, former board member of a sister college, community leader and church elder.
When Mr. Swartzendruber took his oath of office, he affirmed the constitution and policies of Mennonite Church. But, he is leading a revision of EMU policy. He is not adhering to church policy and the EMU’s biblical foundation, “Thy Word Is Truth.” What has changed his position?
If EMU will not abide by the guidelines of Mennonite Church, EMU should change its name to reflect strong emphasis on peace, reject marriage between a man and woman, and accept and affirm the gay lifestyle.
I believe in miracles, and that a majority of evangelical Christians will not allow the minority to align Scripture and policy to the culture around it.
