EMU students and staff sing hymns outside Lehman Auditorium on Friday morning as they raise attention to the hiring of gay faculty and staff. Although the university has no bar on hiring gays, the faith-based institution’s “lifestyle commitment” all faculty and staff are encouraged to sign reads, “I recognize my responsibility as a member of the community to refrain from sexual relationships outside of marriage.”
