Recently, we attended a meeting on Boyers Road to express our concerns for the potential placement of a 150-foot cell tower in the flight path of helicopters leaving and arriving at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. and of nearby young families’ homes. In addition, the cell tower:
1) Would not be related to RMH’s needs, as it has its own communication amplification system.
2) Would impact those property values near the cell tower.
3) Would be totally visible from surrounding vantage points in the areas of Boyers, Stone Spring and Port Republic Road roads.
First and foremost are the safety concerns for the transported patients and for the families close by. Expressing your concerns about this is important. Speak with your district supervisor and attend the public hearing on Wednesday, June 12, at 6 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors meeting room, Rockingham County Administration Center, Harrisonburg.
