Harrisonburg firefighters battle a blaze at Valley Pool and Spa, 185 Neff Ave., early Wednesday before dawn. Harrisonburg Fire Chief Larry Shifflett said a passer-by called 911 around 4 a.m. reporting heavy fire and explosions coming from the store near the Valley Mall. Harrisonburg firefighters enter the back of the Valley Pool and Spa building on Neff Avenue to douse the last of the fire that burned the store on Wednesday. Firefighters knocked down the blaze in about three hours but remained on the scene most of the day attempting to determine the cause.
