It’s unfortunate that Robert Hodges Sr. has bought into the “claptrap” of the climate change deniers (“Letter Correct On Saying Experts Are Wrong,” March 5). The science of climate change is indeed settled. Records show that the earth’s and the ocean’s average temperature is increasing at ever-growing rates. Many of the hottest years on record have been recorded in the last couple of decades.
Mr. Hodges is right in that natural phenomena are responsible for part of the earth’s climate, but add human activity to the mix and the resulting climate is becoming untenable.
What qualifications do these gentlemen have to refute the findings of more than 2,000 scientists who have been studying the issue for years? How much research of any kind have they done? My guess is the answer to that question is this: None.
