HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Designated hitter Josh Wyatt went 3-for-3 with four RBIs, and Mark Gunst scattered seven hits over 5 1/3 innings as James Madison defeated Hostra 9-4 in the rubber game of a Colonial Athletic Association baseball series Sunday.

The Dukes, who won 8-3 on Saturday, improved to 11-17 overall, 3-2 in the CAA; the Pride fell to 10-11, 1-2.

Third baseman Ty McFarland and right fielder Tyler Gregory each went 3-for-5 for JMU.

McFarland went 2-for-3 with a home run to lead Madison on Saturday, as Chris Huffman allowed three runs on six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in a complete-game effort.

Bridgewater Goes 3-0: Senior center fielder Nick Fulk went 5-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs as Bridgewater used a six-run seventh inning to defeat Stevenson 9-3 in a non-conference baseball game Sunday in Bridgewater.

The Eagles, who beat Hampden-Sydney 9-6 and 9-5 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday, improved to 20-7 overall, 10-3 in the ODAC; Stevenson fell to 8-13.

Senior right-hander Tyler Slanovec earned the win, pitching two perfect innings of relief with two strikeouts.

EMU Splits With Guilford: Junior right-hander Drew Crawford scattered eight hits over 8 1/3 innings and allowed just one run as Guilford beat Eastern Mennonite 3-1 to split an Old Dominion Athletic Conference baseball game doubleheader Saturday in Greensboro, N.C.

The Quakers, who lost the first game 15-5, improved to 11-18 overall, 4-9 in the ODAC; the Royals moved to 15-15, 3-10.

Freshman first baseman Conner Smith led EMU’s 17-hit attack in Saturday’s win, going 4-for-4. Senior catcher Jonathan Estrada went 2-for-3 with a triple, three RBIs and three runs.
