Harrisonburg Attorney Earns Legislators' Endorsement
HARRISONBURG — Shenandoah Valley legislators have nominated Harrisonburg attorney Bruce Albertson to replace retiring Rockingham County Circuit Court Judge James Lane, according to a statement released this afternoon by Del. Tony Wilt, R-Broadway.
The nomination is made by those state legislators whose districts lie within the 26th judicial district. The district includes Clark, Frederick, Page, Rockingham, Shenandoah and Warren counties, and the cities of Harrisonburg and Winchester.
Albertson, 43, has been a criminal defense attorney in Harrisonburg since 2002. Before that, he served eight years as an assistant commonwealth’s attorney in Rockingham County.
The Virginia General Assembly plans to vote on the nomination on Wednesday. The legislators’ nominee almost always goes on to secure enough votes to become judge.
