A law Edward Snowden broke says that if anyone knows anything about FISA surveillance warrants, they cannot talk about it; and if put under oath before government investigations or oversight committees, they must lie or they will be prosecuted for espionage!
So James Clapper said of his denying to Congress NSA listened to any digital communications, “I told the lesser ‘untruth.’” Many other officials have also lied to us about it.
AP reporters and their families have had their phones, etc., listened to, and NSA has shared information with the DEA and IRS.
Think about it. This law shows there can be no effective legislative checks and balance oversight of the NSA and no effective NSA whistleblowers. There can be no effective “balance” of security and the God-given right of privacy. Such a compromise cannot be contained.
