Master Gardeners To Give Tips At Downtown Library

Posted: March 30, 2013

HARRISONBURG — As the saying goes, April showers will bring May flowers, and this year the Central Shenandoah Valley Master Gardener Association wants to help residents prepare.

The group will be at Massanutten Regional Library’s main branch in downtown Harrisonburg beginning Tuesday and running through April 15 to answer gardening and landscape questions. The group’s visit is sponsored by Virginia Cooperative Extension, which also will sell summer bulbs with half the proceeds benefiting the MRL system.

“An important part of our purpose is to educate the public in appropriate horticultural practices,” said Rudy Smith, president of the master gardener association, in a press release.

Master gardeners will be on hand to dispense advice Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.; Wednesdays from 5 to 8 p.m.; and Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m.

On April 15, the last day, gardeners will be available from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
