Men Need Godly Wisdom

Posted: January 11, 2013

“Hell has no fury like a do-gooder armed with government force.”

I see “government agencies” running rampant over citizens of this nation and am reminded of the verse in Ecclesiastes 10:7 that reads: “I have seen servants upon horses and princes walking as servants upon the earth.” The positive teaching of Ecclesiastes is that wisdom is central to the civilizational perspective of God’s covenant.

This wisdom embodied in Solomon pointed to the Greater Solomon in Whom alone is hidden all the treasures of knowledge and wisdom. But Ecclesiastes stresses that men who do not want wisdom from God that  serves His purpose will get vanity instead. Unless the wisdom men pursue is founded on God’s word of truth all of their efforts at civilization will come to nothing. For God’s curse on all of man’s life is a burden that is lifted only in His covenant.

Has our nation been turned upside down?
