HARRISONBURG — The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office deputy and female driver involved in a crash in downtown Harrisonburg Monday morning sustained only minor injuries, according to the Virginia State Police trooper investigating the incident.

Deputy Donald Landes collided with Harrisonburg resident Erma Davis, 78, as he went through a red light at the intersection of North Main and Elizabeth streets, Trooper Robert Lawson said. Landes had his emergency lights and siren activated.

Both drivers went to Sentara-RMH Medical Center for minor injuries. The crash, which closed down Main Street for four hours, is still under investigation.
