HARRISONBURG — Rockingham County students have to say “goodbye” to most of their spring break, thanks to the barrage of snow and ice that has closed schools for 11 days and delayed it nine times — so far — this winter.
Schools Superintendent Carol Fenn announced five makeup days today: March 7, which was previously a half-day, and March 24 – 27, which were previously part of spring break.
March 28, the last day of what used to be spring break, and April 21, Easter Monday, will be considered for additional makeup days if more inclement weather again closes schools for one or more days. School administration may also consider making June 3-5 full days, as they are now half-days because of exams.
