HARRISONBURG — Starting Monday, crews with the city’s Public Works Department and general contractor Faulconer Construction will begin daytime work on the west side of Main Street, according to a release from city spokeswoman Mary-Hope Vass.
The next phase of construction will see parts of the existing sidewalk demolished and the installation of new curbs and gutters. The work will take place between Bruce Street and Newman Avenue.
Pedestrians are asked to use sidewalks on the east side of Main Street during construction. Vass said that businesses on the west side of the street would still be accessible via ramps over the demolished sidewalk.
Night construction will continue on conduit and duct installation from Water Street to Court Square.
