NEW: Dayton Police Chief Announces Retirement
Conley Served Town Since 1998
DAYTON - Police Chief Donald “Dinky” Conley announced his retirement at the Dayton Council meeting tonight.
Conley joined the Dayton Police Department in 1998 and became chief in 2006. He will step down on Jan. 1.
He grew up in the area and graduated from Page County High School in 1981. After a stint in the Army, Conley decided to enter law enforcement. He worked for the Massanutten Police for a year and then moved on to Green and Madison counties, where he worked for five years each.
