A Linville woman’s trailer was destroyed by fire early Friday.

Marina Ventura, 63, woke up around 1 a.m. to a “pop” and found her entire home basically on fire, said Jeremy Fulk, an assistant fire marshal with the Rockingham County Fire and Rescue Department. Ventura declined transportation to Sentara RMH Medical Center, though she sustained minor burns to her face and her hair was singed, Fulk said.

As of 9:30 a.m. Friday morning, investigators were at the scene at 2807 Rhodes Lane to determine a cause.

“She’s lost everything she’s got here,” Fulk said.

The American Red Cross is assisting Ventura.
