A free boating safety course will be offered next week in Dayton.
The course will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and participants must attend both evenings. It will take place on the lower level of the Dayton Municipal Building, located at 125B E. View St. in Dayton.
Topics covered include boating operations, safe boating practices, navigation signs and boating responsibilities. The course will fulfill state mandatory requirements.
The class is recommended for motivated students 12 years of age and older with good reading and comprehension skills, who want to learn more about the fundamentals of safe and responsible boating. Course materials are on a 6th grade reading level.
