HARRISONBURG — Sen. Emmett Hanger, R-Mount Solon, has a second intra-party challenger to contend with for re-election next year.
Dan Moxley, chairman of the Augusta County Republican Committee, has joined the fray for the GOP nomination to represent the 24th District in the Virginia Senate, according to the Virginia Public Access Project.
Marshall Pattie, the North River District representative on the Augusta County Board of Supervisors, previously announced that he will challenge Hanger for the nomination.
Since 1996, Hanger has represented the district, which includes most of south and eastern Rockingham County, all of Augusta County, and areas east of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
