Editor's Note: The following is an update to a story originally posted at 10:45 a.m.
HARRISONBURG — At least one person has died as a result of the multi-vehicle crash this morning on Interstate 81 south of Staunton. The name of the victim has not been released.
The wreck at mile marker 210 on the northbound side of the interstate, closed both northbound lanes, both of which have since reopened, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The crash occurred between exit 205 at Route 606 in the Raphine area of Rockbridge County and exit 213 at Route 11 in the Greenville area of Augusta County.
It's not clear when the crash occurred, how many vehicles were involved, or how many people were injured.
