An Elkton man who solicited an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old girl now faces additional charges.
Derek William Hulvey, 32, entered a guilty plea on April 14 to one felony count of indecent liberties with a child and one felony count of committing a sexual offense with a minor by computer.
Judge Bruce Albertson scheduled Hulvey, who faces up to 15 years in prison, to be sentenced on June 25. Sources say recommended sentencing guidelines would likely call for no active prison time.
On Monday, a Rockingham County grand jury indicted Hulvey on two felony counts of soliciting a child by computer. Those charges are related to the same case. If convicted of those charges, sources say, the guidelines would likely call for at least some active prison time.
The DN-R will have more on this story in Thursday's print and online editions.
