HARRISONBURG — The Cub Run Elementary School teacher who had been missing since Monday morning, when she failed to show up for work, has been found alive, according to sources familiar with the investigation. (Click herefor originalstory.)
Sources say the teacher, Cheryl Burns, 53, showed back up at her Fishersville home this morning, about 24 hours after she was seen leaving the house, presumably for work.
It’s not clear where she’s been or whether she was abducted or left and came back on her own.
Rockingham County Schools officials became concerned Monday morning when she did not show up at Cub Run, an elementary school in the county. They subsequently contacted police.
The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office led the investigation because she was last seen in Fishersville.
The Daily News-Record will have more on this story as details become available and will have a complete report in Wednesday’s DN-R.
