HARRISONBURG — Harrisonburg residents whose trash is normally collected on Monday will have their garbage collected on Tuesday instead due to the President’s Day holiday. City offices will be closed Monday.
Residents are asked to hold their recycling until the next collection date, Monday, Feb. 24.
The city is offering a new service to residents who wish to receive an extra reminder about the changes in their trash collection schedule. Residents may sign up for an email notification to be sent to them when there is a change in their trash collection.
This typically occurs during the 12 holidays city employees receive, or when inclement weather affects the trash and recycling collection.
Residents are encouraged to visit www.harrisonburgva.gov/notify-me and provide the name and email address to sign up. The service is free and users may unsubscribe at any time.
