NEW: Penn Laird Man Dies From Crash Injuries
Rollover Occurred Monday Night On U.S. 33

HARRISONBURG — The Penn Laird man seriously injured in a rollover crash on U.S. 33 Monday night has died, police have confirmed.
William Summerfield, 34, died Tuesday at the University of Virginia Medical Center from injuries sustained after the vehicle he was driving ran off the road and overturned, according to Virginia State Police Sgt. F.L. Tyler.
Summerfield was listed in critical condition at U.Va. on Tuesday afternoon but by press time Tuesday night, the hospital had stopped releasing information on his condition. Tyler confirmed Summerfield's death this morning
Summerfield was ejected from the 1998 Ford sport utility vehicle and flown to U.Va. by a medical helicopter.
The crash occurred on U.S. 33 near the intersection at Cross Keys Road at about 10:30 p.m. Monday.
