A portion of U.S. 211 in Shenandoah County will be reduced to one lane in both directions from Monday to Wednesday for repair work.
Crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation plan to replace a pipe under the roadway.
VDOT states the closure is along a three-lane stretch about 0.3 miles west of Run Away Lane near New Market. The construction is on part of the road that has a steep mountain grade VDOT is encouraging motorists to use caution through the area.
On Monday, about 8 a.m., the westbound lane of U.S. 211 will be closed. The two eastbound lanes will used for traffic in both directions of traffic from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. VDOT states that flagging crews will control traffic during those hours.
The pipe replacement is expected to be complete by 6 p.m. Wednesday
