A Rockingham County judge found probable cause today in the case of a Harrisonburg man accused of murdering the father of his ex-girlfriend's children.

Delano Dontae Fitz, 28, is charged with first-degree murder, felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and felony use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

During testimony, investigators said Fitz shot Traman T. Turner, 27, of Harrisonburg, in the parking lot of a townhome neighborhood before 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 24.

Investigators say he shot him at least three times in the back. Medical examiners are still trying to determine whether a fourth shot was in the chest or also in the back.

Prosecutors plan to present the case to a grand jury on March 24.
