High school students interested in attending one of the five federal service academies can meet with representatives from the schools, as well as personnel from ROTC programs, Virginia Tech and the Virginia Military Institute at a forum later this month in Charlottesville.
U.S. Sen. Mark Warner will host his 4th annual Virginia Service Academy Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 29 at the Paramount Theatre. The event will offer students, parents and guidance counselors a comprehensive overview of the U.S. service academies and their admission processes. Pre-registration is required
The Air Force Academy, Coast Guard Academy, Merchant Marine Academy, Military Academy, and Naval Academy require a two-tier admission process of highly-qualified individuals; an applicant must meet the rigorous admissions requirements of an academy as well as receive a Congressional nomination to be accepted into an academy.
Registration for the event and information on the nomination process for the service academies is available at www.warner.senate.gov. For questions, email the senator’s Vienna office at firstname.lastname@example.org (email includes underscore after "academy").
