Shenandoah County firefighters battled a house fire this morning in the Toms Brook area, according to Shenandoah County Fire and Rescue.
Early this morning, crews responded to a home on Country Farm Lane, between Toms Brook and Maurertown.
The home is owned by the county and is managed by the Shenandoah Alliance for Shelter.
Two people were inside the home when the fire began, but were able to escape before crews arrived, according to firefighters.
The first firefighters on scene entered the home but had to evacuate, according to officials.
In addition to crews from Shenandoah County Fire and Rescue, firefighters from Toms Brook, Strasburg, Woodstock, Conicville, Middletown, Edinburg and Orkney Springs responded to the blaze.
Fire officials say the county administrator and several members of the Board of Supervisors are on scene.
