Shenandoah National Park will offer free admission and discounts to Rockingham and Page county residents on June 21.
Each year, the park dedicates a day to residents from neighboring counties, waiving entrance fees and lowering prices on merchandise to those living in jurisdictions that border the attraction.
DNC Parks Resorts at Shenandoah, the official concessionaire, will provide a 10 percent discount on select items in their retail stores and a 10 percent discount on food and some beverage items at their restaurants, a press release says.
The Shenandoah National Park Association, which supports
the interpretive and educational activities of the park, will offer a 20 percent discount on all items in their bookstores in the Dickey Ridge and Byrd visitor centers, the release says.
This year’s event also includes a showcase tent.
Visitors will be required to provide proof of residency by showing their Virginia driver’s license to receive discounts.
