TIMBERVILLE — The September meeting of the Timberville Town Council has been postponed for one week, according to Town Manager Austin Garber.
Normally held on the second Thursday of each month, the meeting has been pushed back from Sept. 11 to Sept. 18 to ensure that all members of the council will be in attendance.
Garber said in addition to regular council business, the rezoning request of a parcel of land on which Wal-Mart wishes to construct a 128,000-square-foot supercenter would be on the agenda.
He also said that there would be no public comment session on the request, as the council and Planning Commission had held a joint hearing on Aug. 22 attended by over 300 people — although he did add that the council could decide to take comments at the meeting if it wished.
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. at the town hall at 392 S. Main St.
