The Virginia Department of Transportation released today a list of upcoming and continuing projects that could affect travel in the Rockingham County area next week.
On Interstate 81, from mile marker 237 to 264, crews will be removing debris, cleaning bridges and performing guardrail work from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crews will alo be making pothole repairs as needed.
In the Bridgewater area, motorists on Oakwood Drive could see flaggers directing traffic for construction work on temporary bridge being built over Cooks Creek. The estimated completion date for the project is Oct. 31.
In Harrisonburg, motorists might see construction crews on Stone Spring Road and Peach Grove Avenue as part of new road construction to extend the Southeast Connector in the county. There might be possible lane closures controlled by flaggers from Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The estimated completion date for the project is November 2014.
