The Washington Post named Harrisonburg High School as one of "America’s Most Challenging High Schools."
Only 9 percent of the roughly 22,000 U.S. public high schools made the list, according to the newspaper.
Of the 2,029, HHS ranked 1,484th, compared to 1,516th last year.
The school ranked 90th out of 116 Virginia schools on the list. There 339 high schools in Virginia in the study.
“Our commitment to high expectations for all students remains unwavering,” said Scott Kizner, superintendent of
schools. “This recognition as one of the most challenging high schools is something the entire Harrisonburg community should be proud of.”
